L.A. times interviews Candice Accola

Candice Accola and Michael Trevino seem to be getting a lot of press lately around L.A. in the past few days. I have a feeling it's because of the long awaited episode "By The Light Of The Moon" is growing closer to appearing on our televisions! Thank you for the heads up Salvatorecast and also be sure to head over to L.A. Times to read the rest of this interview.

"Romance or friendship-wise, do you think they're doomed in a way since vampires and werewolves are historically enemies?
It's definitely got a Romeo and Juliet quality to it, the idea of them becoming romantic. Who knows? That didn't end very well with Romeo and Juliet. [Laughs] Hopefully, it wouldn't be that same result for Caroline and Tyler. I don't know. Really, right now, the most prominent thing going on between both of them is finding a safe place for Tyler to transform. It's really about his transformation right now. It's not about anything else, which I think is such a wonderful thing because, for Caroline, any involvement with a member of the opposite sex was immediately sexual throughout the first season. It was immediately like crush-worthy. It wasn't just like a friendship. I think it's just a lovely way of showing that she as a character has grown within the second season. It's more than just about a boy I immediately have to have a crush on. It's a friendship. It's something a little bit more substantial."

Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson's interview with New York Post

Kevin and Julie dish out on season 2.

"PW: The last time you made one of the main characters a vampire -- vicky -- she didn't last very long. Will Caroline have a longer shelf life?
Kevin: I think it’s safe to say yes.
Julie: Here’s the deal, Caroline could die in any episode – she is doomed. She is absolutely, fundamentally doomed by definition of her own personality and her lot in life. Her mom’s in the council and is the sheriff. She's also a neurotic, jealous busybody who is always putting her foot in her mouth and Damon isn’t going to put up with her – so she’s doomed. The question is, how much fun can we have getting her out of those doomed situations and for how long. Because we really, really believe that this character has a long shelf life.

PW: I can't wait to see Candice Accola as a vampire!
Julie: She’s amazing. We have a lot of fun. The sad part is, now that she’s a vampire, it doesn’t bode well for other people's shelf lives. Now we have one more vampire around to kill people."

Bonnie, Caroline, Matt, and Tyler Stories to finally be explored in season 2.

Thank you MTV Hollywoodcrush for this awesome video interview from Comic Con! I'm so excited after all of this news. I'm so happy that Kevin has decided to go on with whatever plans he had for the stories of Tyler, Bonnie, Caroline, and Matt.

"Actually, Kevin said he's excited to give the show's sideline characters a lot more camera time in season 2. "What’s nice about this is that Matt, Caroline, Tyler, and Bonnie were all sort of our secondary characters — they are not part of the triangle. Now, all the storylines I wanted to tell last year and didn’t have time, I can tell them. I’m grateful I can tell the stories I’ve been sitting on. It will involve Caroline and Bonnie and Matt and Tyler, and a new triangle will be born."
