Ian: That was a very cathartic few hours not only for Damon, but also for me. Sometimes those types of scenes are really, really interesting because they come from a place deep within yourself. You are forced to put yourself through what that character is going through, so there’s an interesting connection there for an actor. This little journey that senior Damon is on is one to be reckoned with. He’s asking real serious questions that we’ve all asked ourselves. It just happens to be coming from a person who is 160 plus years old [laughs]."-PopWrap

"IGN TV: Katherine has become a pretty big part of the show, and so far, she's sticking around. Do you get used to going in and knowing that you may be playing Elena in one scene, then turn around and play Katherine?

Nina Dobrev: Yeah, actually. It's one of those things where there's never a dull day on The Vampire Diaries, for me at least! I'm either Katherine or Elena and there's a lot of makeup changes and a lot of personality changes. There's a lot on my plate and it's fun and great to have that challenge. It's not easy by any means, but I'm working really hard. I'm doing 220%! Because you know how you have to say 110%?"

"She's compelled to do whatever Damon says, but she's so quick and witty," Somerhalder tells us. "It's kind of tragic that the only way he can express himself to anyone is if he puts them under his compulsion."
