Vampire Diaries new character Vanessa. Courtney Ford dishes to E about her Character

Courtney Ford talks about her character Vanessa in the new season of The Vampire Diaries.

"When we asked Courtney whether Vanessa would see any action in the romance department, her reaction revealed that she's obviously hooking up with someone...but Courtney's lips are sealed: "I want to tell you so much, but I can't!" she said, laughing. We're starting to believe show runner Kevin Williamson really does put the fear of death in his castmembers." Read the rest of the interview at E!

Dexter Alum to play Vanessa on The Vampire Diaries

Michael Aussielo posted just a moment ago that sources have confirmed that the Dexter Alum Courtney Ford has been cast to play the role of Vanessa. I totally would have never expected these turn of events. However I'm hoping that her character will be on the show for a while if not a long time because the show needs more strong female and powerful women!

"At Comic-Con last month, exec producer Kevin Williamson hinted that the character may be harboring a secret or two. “She’s not without her own intrigue,” he told me. “It’ll be a nice little part for someone. And it’s a part that could evolve into this massive story line or we could gut her like a fish.”
