Dexter Alum to play Vanessa on The Vampire Diaries

Michael Aussielo posted just a moment ago that sources have confirmed that the Dexter Alum Courtney Ford has been cast to play the role of Vanessa. I totally would have never expected these turn of events. However I'm hoping that her character will be on the show for a while if not a long time because the show needs more strong female and powerful women!

"At Comic-Con last month, exec producer Kevin Williamson hinted that the character may be harboring a secret or two. “She’s not without her own intrigue,” he told me. “It’ll be a nice little part for someone. And it’s a part that could evolve into this massive story line or we could gut her like a fish.”
